Yabe High School students' flower display (July)

Since 2001, Aso Kumamoto Airport has been exhibiting seasonal floral arrangements grown by students from agricultural-related schools in the prefecture.
When you use the airport, why not take a look down at your feet and enjoy the artwork created by high school students from Kumamoto?
In July, we have Marigolds, a work by students from Kumamoto Prefectural Yabe High School.

[Comments from Yabe High School students]
Yabe High School is located in Yamato Town, Kamimashiki District, Kumamoto Prefecture. Yamato Town is located almost in the center of Kyushu, and is rich in nature and has beautiful scenic spots such as Soyo Gorge, Ryokusen Gorge, and Uchidaijin Gorge.
Yabe High School has three departments: Food and Agriculture Science, Forestry Science, and General Science.
The flowers and plants planted in the planters this time were grown by the Department of Food and Agricultural Sciences.
We have grown them with love, sowing the seeds in the spring, potting them up, fertilizing them, and watering them daily.
Marigolds come in a wide variety of colors, including yellow and orange, and are a plant that makes you feel bright and cheerful when you look at them.
We would be delighted if the people using the airport feel even a little brighter when they see the flowers we have grown.
