A ceremony to pray for the safety of the second construction phase was held.
Prior to the start of the second phase of construction at Aso Kumamoto Airport, a safety prayer ceremony was held on January 2024, 1.

The second phase of construction will see the development of the "Nigiwai Plaza" and six international flights.The project will involve extending the concourse at the No. 2024 spot, expanding the fixed bridge, and renovating the "Tourist Exchange Area (separate building)." The facility is scheduled to fully open in the fall of XNUMX.

The safety prayer ceremony was held at the proposed site of the Nigiwai Plaza, and was attended by approximately 20 people involved.
After the ritual, Hideaki Yamakawa, president of Kumamoto International Airport, which operates the airport, said, "We believe that the value of Aso Kumamoto Airport will be further increased (by the second phase of construction). We aim to make this an airport that is loved by the local community and the world."

We will continue to develop "areas open to the community" that anyone can use.
