Aso Chuo High School Students' Flower Exhibition (August 2022)
Since 2001, Aso Kumamoto Airport has been exhibiting seasonal floral arrangements grown by students from agricultural-related schools in the prefecture.
When you use the airport, why not take a look down at your feet and enjoy the artwork created by high school students from Kumamoto?
The August exhibit features works by students from Kumamoto Prefectural Aso Chuo High School (gerberas, gazanias, petunias, portulaca, portulaca, cockscomb, impatiens, begonias, torenia, and marigolds).
[Comments from Aso Chuo High School students]
We are truly pleased to have the opportunity to welcome everyone using Aso Kumamoto Airport with the flowers we have grown.
Aso Chuo High School is a two-building school with five departments: General Studies, General Business, Agriculture and Food, Green Environment, and Social Welfare, each of which is engaged in specialized studies. In the Agriculture and Food Department, we are working to contribute to the local community by cultivating potted plants such as cyclamens and flowers in the great outdoors of Aso. We are particularly committed to contributing to the local community, and we work with the Aso Youth Exchange Center and local facilities and schools to create flower beds and give gifts of the flowers we grow.
Well, this time, we wanted to introduce a variety of flowers to everyone, so we have prepared 10 kinds of flowers. Please enjoy looking at the beautiful flowers blooming despite the heat of this summer. I think that many people are refraining from activities due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, but we would be happy if we could give energy and healing through flowers to everyone who uses Aso Kumamoto Airport and everyone who is thinking about Kumamoto as they look at this website from a distance. We look forward to the day when we can return to normal life someday, and we would like to continue learning while taking all possible measures against infectious diseases.
