Flower exhibition by students of Kamoto Agricultural High School (November 2022)
Since 2001, Aso Kumamoto Airport has been exhibiting seasonal floral arrangements grown by students from agricultural-related schools in the prefecture.
When you use the airport, why not take a look down at your feet and enjoy the artwork created by high school students from Kumamoto?
The November exhibit features works (pansies, dianthus, and nemesia) by students of Kumamoto Prefectural Kamoto Agricultural High School.
[Comments from Kamoto Agricultural High School students]
We, second and third year students of the Department of Horticulture Technology, who specialize in floriculture, began preparations for the airport's floral display during the summer holidays. We sowed pansies, dianthus, and nemesia seeds on August 17th, and planted them in planters in October. This summer was hot again, and watering them was difficult, but by carefully tending each pot, we were able to produce beautiful flowers. We hope that anyone who comes to Kumamoto will be able to see the flowers growing healthily.
